Honoring Local Heroes with the Gift of a New Roof
What is the Roof Responder Project?
At Xterior Solutions, we are proud to support our community’s first responders—the brave men and women who risk their lives to protect ours. For the month of June, we’re giving back in a big way by awarding one local first responder a brand-new roof at no cost.
Whether you are a first responder yourself or know someone who deserves recognition, we encourage you to nominate a hero today.
Who is Eligible?
Eligible first responders include (whether paid or volunteer):
- Law Enforcement Officers (local, state, federal sworn firearm-carrying officers)
- Firefighters
- Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs)
- Paramedics
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
- Search and Rescue Teams
❗ Please Note: Administrative and non-sworn personnel (dispatchers, office managers, HR, etc.) are not eligible.
What is Required to Apply?
Applicants must submit:
- A valid First Responder ID OR
- A recent paystub OR
- Retirement documentation
🔎 A background check will be conducted through our partner, the Gary Sinise Foundation. A link to the background check form will be provided upon application submission. The cost of the background check is covered by the Foundation.
📸 Media & Consent
All applicants must agree to our Media Release Form. This form gives us permission to share your story, name, and photos across our website, social media, and press channels. The form will be sent via email after the winner is chosen and application is submitted.
🏆 How is the Winner Chosen?
Our team at Xterior Solutions will review all applications and select the winner based on:
- The impact of their service
- The condition and scope of their home’s roof
💸 Tax Info & Insurance
This is a charitable gift—there is no tax liability for the winner.
Applicants are not required to show proof of homeowner’s insurance.
📍 Winner Announcement
We plan to announce the winner this summer after all entries have been reviewed.
Who is eligible to apply?
First Responders: A First Responder is defined as someone who is responsible for protecting life, property, evidence, and the environment during the early stages of an incident (i.e. Those that respond to the 911 call). This includes Law Enforcement Officers (local, state, and federal firearm-carrying sworn officers), Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians/Paramedics/Emergency Medical Services, Search and Rescue Teams, etc. All of these individuals are eligible regardless of paid or volunteer status. Non-sworn or administrative personnel with these departments are NOT eligible (office managers, dispatchers, HR, etc.).
What Proof of Service is Required?
A background check will be completed.
How soon after the winner is decided does the roof replacement happen?
After the winner is chosen, application is received and approved, we will schedule a date that works with the winners schedule.
